Why Society Still Needs Feminism
Because to men, a key is a device to open something. For women, it’s a weapon we hold between our fingers when...
”ok y’all, i’m going to try to address all of these (pants will have to wait a bit while I gather some resources, but do I ever hear y’all, oy).
Shoes! My feet are also on the smallish side (women’s 7-7.5, men’s 5.5)
I feel like I have written this before but can’t seem to find it but there are a lot of brands out there now making more gender neutral oxfords and flat shoes (rather than the lady’d up version of men’s shoes, insert eyeroll).
Some brands I own and like include, starting with least and going to most pricey:
You really can find good shoes at any price point (though of course the pricer ones will hold up better to extensive wear and are able to be resoled) and I would recommend looking harder at Women’s shoes if your feet are small (unless you are totally not okay with that) because finding cute Men’s shoes that small is very hard to do unless you are able to spend a lot.
Is that helpful? I love shoes and feel very fortunate to have quite a collection to enjoy.

if you read tomboy style, I’ve answered her standard interview questions after the jump if you wanna go along on a self-reflective/indulgent ride with me!
what is the one clothing item you have the hardest time shopping for?
hi y’all.
so this is not an overly personal blog in general (I try to keep it fashion, gender, feminism related with everything I post), but I thought perhaps it might be interesting or useful to you all in some way if I wrote a bit about what’s going on in my life and how it relates to writing this blog.
jump over!

thank you melting-scenes for the questions!
music i’m listening to lately:
company of thieves! they are pals of N’s and I just saw them live for the first time and they are amazing.
a new person who inspires me:
right now I am mostly inspired by all that is happening right now! I just moved in with N (maybe I’ll post photos of our apartment if that would interest y’all?), we got a dog, and I got a new job—all within about a month. I’m inspired thinking about taking time for myself and working on all the projects I’m excited about (including this blog!).
what is inspiring all of you these days?

send me questions for TMI Tuesday?

1. what made me want to move to nyc
many things! my best friend lived here and had a cool feminist job and I wanted one, I really wanted to get out of Virginia, I wanted to live in a city (why not one of the biggest ones on earth), I liked NYC when I had visited, I knew that it would be an ideal place for me to explore gender and sexuality. do I think I’ll live here forever? probably not, but for now I am enjoying it!
2. how did I meet my beau N:
okcupid + Allison Weiss
N is pals with AW as am I (queer bookclub, hay) and we were both at a brunch show that AW played that was at my friend who ran our bookclub’s apt. we didn’t meet that day, but N remembered me and messaged me a while later on OKC. we met up within a few days of messaging and have pretty much been inseparable since.
thank you for two great questions!

friends!
since I’ve missed you all so much, let’s chat! ask me some questions!
I’ll be around for a while tonight answering as you ask! i’m an open book, more or less. let’s talk about genderqueer identity, fashion, style, love, family, being an adult, food, moving to NYC, whatever you like!

gotta say, anon, I’m most certainly not the only queer style blogger who also talks about my relationship/partner often. See also: fitforafemme, i-dream-of-dapper, and mmmajestic
hope that the fall season brings you both fashion and affection!

y’all. I know I’ve been so MIA on the internet lately. here’s the thing, I have an Exciting Feminist Job that is exhausting. Also, I’m so totally in love and spend all my time with N.
so, between all of those things, I’ve been busy being NC everyday and not thinking ab GQF very much. for that I’m sorry. and I truly miss all of you that I used to chat with on the regular. how have you been?
that said: november marks the one year anniversary of this blog! woohoo!
but given my lack of free time for posting here, what kind of things would you like to see from this blog? what have you really enjoyed? what have you hated? what should I do with this thing here?
