fancy friday made fancy by fem/me makeup and cute dog

fuckyeahbutchandfemme:

Just my beau and i dressed extra femme/butch for a friends gathering the other night.

Not our typically appearance, but sometimes it’s fun to pretend it’s 1956.

_______________

Aw, this is just cute, don’t you think?

from this weekend- playing butch/femme for the evening and having hearts for eyes all the time.

unseasonably warm monday means sassy graphic dress and bringing back summer cologne.

hope y’all get to enjoy this glorious day! ox NC

Perfect weekend day is just perfect.

retro glamour and graphic prints.

wearing:

  • black kick-pleat skirt[zara, thrifted]
  • green v-neck t-shirt [gap]
  • green printed scarf [thrifted]
  • orange skinny belt [thrifted]
  • brown leather boots [jcrew]
  • bonus: orange [OPI’s y’all come back now!] manicure!

happy fancy friday!

wearing:

  • floral shirtdress
  • orange woven belt
  • gray and orange silk scarf
  • black tights
  • brown leather boots
  • sleepy but sparkly eyes (trying out eye makeup, y’all!)

i wasn’t kidding about being really jazzed on mixed prints, was i? i desperately love this dress but it’s so bold (a-line shape, busy print) that i have a hard time wearing it different ways or very often. this is pretty different from the last time i wore it, right?

what are y’all wearing today? dressing fancy?

definitely the case. i just had the best conversation with riversong1938 about misogyny and disdain for femininity even within trans* communities. i hate that i or anyone spends any time wringing our hands over not being masculine enough to be [gender]queer.

i write to you now with two coats of mascara and both my finger and toenails painted. i almost definitely would not have done those things a year ago.

sometimes it’s fun just to dress up as a dykey rosie the riveter when you’re only doing laundry and hanging out with your friends on a sunday.

wearing:

  • black v-neck tshirt (old navy)
  • surplus button down (jcrew)
  • bandanna (who knows)
  • skinny jeans
